Champions for Children recognized as 2nd business in Hillsborough County to receive the “Gold Level Breastfeeding Friendly Business” Award

by Jessica DuChene
March 1st, 2013

Last year, Champions for Children made a commitment to its staff to provide support in the workplace to breastfeeding employees. This step reinforced the agency’s dedication to breastfeeding advocacy; something our abcProgram is very well-known for. We are thrilled to share that in 2012 Champions for Children began the process of becoming the second business in Hillsborough County to apply for and receive the Gold Level Breastfeeding Friendly Business Award from the Florida Breastfeeding Coalition. Part of the process meant meeting specific criteria such as a designated breastfeeding room, comfortable furniture and other “mother friendly” items.

To learn more about the Florida Breastfeeding Coalition and the required criteria to receive this award, please visit its website at www.flbreastfeeding.org. Thank you so much to the abcProgram for all its hard work in making our breastfeeding room come to fruition. And thank you to the Florida Breastfeeding Coalition for this distinguished acknowledgement. ♥
